A Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) is a document issued by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) or one of the various Export Promotion Councils (EPC), Commodity Boards, or Development Authorities. These organisations are primarily responsible for promoting and developing export businesses and are authorized by the Government of India to do so. RCMC renewal is the process of renewing the membership certificate so that it remains valid for a period of five years and serves as proof that the certificate holder is registered with FIEO, the relevant EPC, or the Commodity Board1.

If you are an exporter, it is essential to apply for the RCMC renewal for the following reasons2:
● Requesting permission to export (or import) restricted goods.
● Qualifying for various benefits outlined in the foreign trade policy.
● Accessing customs and central excise benefits.

Documents required for RCMC renewal online

Some of the documents required to renew RCMC online are3:

1. Copy of the current RCMC certificate

2. Copy of the company's Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association (AOA)

3. Copy of the company's most recent audited financial statements

4. Copy of the company's most recent registration certificate

5. Roster of the company's directors

6. Inventory of the company's products and services

7. Copy of the most recent export-import licence

Step-by-step guide for RCMC renewal online

Step 1:

Members need to access the DGFT portal at https://www.dgft.gov.in and initiate the login process by clicking the Login button. For those members who have previously registered with the DGFT portal, the same user ID and password can be used for logging in. However, members who need to register with the DGFT portal should click the registration button to complete the registration process.

Step 2:

After logging in to the DGFT portal, members must select Services > e-RCMC > Renewal of RCMC.

Step 3:

Members must click on “Start Fresh Application” or continue with “Draft Application” and click on “Proceed with Existing Application”.

Step 4:

Select “file to Renewal” from the list of available files and then click the Renewal button at the bottom of the page.

Step 5:

Verify the uploaded details and submit the declaration if the profile needs to be updated.

Step 6:

Select the “Radio” Button, click Yes when you have uploaded the profile, and click “Save & Next”.

Step 7:

In the RCMC section, select the applicable Export Promotion Council / Commodity Board and enter the corresponding details.

Step 8:

The renewal fee can be paid online or offline. Members can pay the fee via the payment gateway on the portal by using payment options like Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, and UPI. For the offline method, members should make an advance payment for the membership fee and then continue the process. They should enter the advance payment details through NEFT, RTGS, DD, or Cheque methods during the application process. It's important to note that all other provisions and requirements remain unchanged.

Step 9:

Members will have to attach documents under the attachments section and then click on Upload Attachments, and finally click on “Save & Next”.

Step 10:

After checking the application summary, members must sign the declaration and pay the renewal fee.

Step 11:

If the member has chosen an online mode of payment, he/she will be redirected to the payment gateway for the payment, and after the payment is made, an e-receipt is generated.

After making the payment, whether online or offline, an email has to be sent to membership@epces.in and accounts@epces.in promptly. This facilitates the reconciliation and adjustment of payments5.
