Shipping bill is one of the most important documents for customs clearance in the export logistics process while exporting from India. It is a mandatory bill that must be furnished by the exporter to load goods and export them via sea or air. Once the exporter decides to export a shipment out of the country, a shipping bill has to be submitted to the customs authority for the assessment of the value of goods to be shipped, along with other shipment documents such as invoice, packing list, etc. After the verification process is completed, the customs authority will endorse a copy of the shipping bill with Let Export Order and Let Ship Order.

Step-by-step process on how to download shipping bill from ICEGATE

Step 1

Visit the ICEGATE portal.

Step 2

Select ‘DGFT Download Shipping Bill Status’.

Step 3

Add shipping bill number or date to search bills.

Option 1

Search by shipping bill number: Enter location, shipping bill number, shipping bill date, and captcha as displayed on the box. Click on submit to generate the shipping bill².

Option 2

Search by shipping bill date range: Enter IEC number, and add start date and end date for the shipping bill. Enter the captcha as displayed on the box and click on submit³.
