bulk listing on Amazon
The e-commerce industry has been growing steadily over the years – this opens up many opportunities for Indian sellers to expand their businesses. While the internet penetration has made it easy for customers to shop for products online, it has also become seamless for sellers to make their products available to customers without any geographical limits. The Indian e-commerce industry, currently in the 9th position, is expected to become the 2nd largest e-commerce market by the year 20341.

An important step in e-commerce exports is product listing – a simple and attractive catalogue that makes customers view and shop for products in a few clicks. As a global seller, you are likely to have hundreds of products and variations to list and sell. Or, you might also want to sell in bulk to wholesalers in different parts of the world who are interested to purchase your products in bulk. In any of these two situations, bulk listing can make exports much easier for you.

As a registered Amazon global seller, you can easily list and sell in bulk without facing the challenge of uploading each product over and over again. Here’s the process to list on Amazon:

How to list products on Amazon international marketplaces?

Once you have registered with Amazon Global Selling by submitting a few documents, you can list and make your products available to customers on international marketplaces. Following are the details that will be required for each product that is to be listed:

• SKU details like product barcode, GTIN, or UPC (Universal product code) or EAN (European/International Article Number)
• Product information (features, expiry date if any, size specifications, model number, etc.)

Create a new product listing:

If the product that you are selling is not already listed on Amazon, then you can create a new listing. When a product is listed on Amazon, ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) is generated to make them easily identifiable from the catalog.

Amazon trivia:

ASIN

ASIN stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number and is a 10-character that is generated automatically. It is an alphanumeric identifier that helps with product identification from the catalog. But if you are creating a new listing, your product will automatically be given a new unique ASIN.

Search and match products:

If the products you want to sell are an already existing category on Amazon, then you need to select the product, add your price for a single unit of that product and then enter the number of units you wish to sell. This method is usually applied by the sellers who have few products to sell (50-100 products) per month.

Bulk listing on Amazon:

Sellers who use a professional seller account can list products in bulk. If you have to sell your products in bulk (100-1000 products), you can either add a new product on Amazon or add to an already existing product category. Following are the steps for bulk listing:

Step 1: Once you’ve signed up, log on to Seller Central. From the Inventory menu, select ‘Add Products via Upload’.

Step 2: In the ‘Download an Inventory File’, select the category and sub-categories you want to list.

Step 3: Select from the 18+ Amazon international marketplaces you want to list on.

Step 4: Click on Generate Template.

Step 5: Fill all the details in the ‘Template’ sheet. For an easy understanding, examples are shown in the ‘Example’ sheet, describing how to fill in these details.

Step 6: Fill all the necessary details and save the file.

Step 7: In upload your inventory file, Select ‘Inventory Files for Specific Categories’.

Step 8: Choose the file you want to upload and click on ‘Upload’. You can check the status of the upload done, by clicking on the third tab: ‘Monitor Upload Status’.

Once you’ve listed in bulk on Amazon, you can follow tips to list and make your products visible to global customers. Title, description, features, price and product images are some of the key elements to make your listing attractive.
After listing, your products are now visible to international customers across the world. When a customer places an order, you can choose to deliver by yourself or you can opt for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Under FBA, Amazon takes care of shipping, delivery, returns and customer concerns. Once a customer purchases your product, Amazon credits the money in your bank account in the currency of your choice.
