Meet the winners of Amazon Global Selling Propel Accelerator Season 1
Amazon Global Selling Propel Accelerator program helps export startups in India setup and expand their businesses outside domestic boundaries. Read the success stories of the three winners of this program.
Did you know that India has the 3rd largest startup ecosystem in the world1? Thousands of entrepreneurs from India are making their dreams of leading a brand come true. To support them in expansion and becoming a global brand, Amazon launched its Amazon Global Selling Propel Accelerator program in January 2021, with Startup India.
Out of the 500+ applications received, 10 finalists were chosen who went through the six-week program comprising mentorship sessions, resources and a global ecosystem. The accelerator program provided startups the chance to showcase their business propositions to partner venture capitalist firms – Sequoia Capital India and Fireside Ventures. Of the 10 finalists, top 3 were declared as winners, basis the demo day presentations in a grand virtual finale.

Startups can launch across any or all of 18 global marketplaces and reach millions of new customers. Amazon provides support for end-to-end navigation in the new markets for all cohort members.

Slurp Farm
Whether it is the quality of ingredients or the nutrition value in every recipe, Slurp Farm takes extra care in providing not just healthy but delicious options for its end-customers – kids! Started by two mothers – Meghana Narayan and Shauravi Malik in 2016, the duo spent three years on extensive research and development. “In order to provide healthier options to our kids, we decided to start a business together that could benefit children across the world and help change dietary habits in children,” they share.
Soon, the brand had a range of product offerings - cereals and cookies made of ragi, oats, chocolates, millets and dosa dough, among others. Slurrp Farm has been able to cater to the UK audience so far. “Amazon provides an unparalleled exposure right from its platform in India. On Day 0, we were national. Now, we are expecting to launch our products in the US and UAE markets in the months to come,” says Meghana.

Sirona
With the intent to secure intimate and menstrual hygiene for women, Deep and Mohit Bajaj founded Sirona – the parent company of PeeBuddy, in 2015. As one of the 3 winners of the Propel Accelerator program, Sirona has expanded and established its customer base to UK and USA.
“Even though global wasn’t on our radar initially, the convenience to market the products and sell to customers abroad through Amazon has been a smooth process. Through the click of a button, I can sell my products to a customer in New York, sitting at home here in India. Amazon has surely increased the accessibility for start-ups through its global initiative,” shares Deep. Along with PeeBuddy, the brand also provides disposable toilet seat covers, sprays, rash creams, underarm sweat pads, wet wipes for intimate areas, biodegradable black sanitary pads, first period kit for women, period pain relief patches, and menstrual cups.

The demand for organic and healthy alternatives to fast food has seen a growth in the last few years. With Wellbeing Nutrition, founder Avnish Chhabria offers that and more! Launched in 2019, the brand has a range of immunity boosters, organic Apple Cider Vinegars, and Melts that fulfill your need to have a balanced and nutritious diet. Sourcing and collating a variety like this is important and can seem challenging. So, Avnish conducted extensive research and consulted leading scientists from Berlin University, Germany, to understand the functioning of probiotics and how they can be utilized as smart alternatives to rich meals.
“We have a strong offline presence in India, UK and UAE markets. Going global has also become convenient with just the click of a button. Amazon provides excellent support to startups to set up their businesses on the platform making the whole process smooth,” says Avnish.
