To start selling your product on Amazon.in you first need to list it on Amazon.in. You can provide your product information such as the product category, brand name, product features and specifications, product images, and price. All these details are available to your customer to help them purchase your product (as shown here).
How to list a product on Amazon.in?
To showcase your products on Amazon.in, you need to list them from your Seller Central account in one of the two ways:

Adding a new offer by matching or scan the product barcode or ISBN using the Seller App
If the product you are selling is already available for sale on Amazon.in, all you have to do to list your product is select the product, add the price at which you want to sell the product, and the number of units that you want to sell.
You can add a new offer in the following ways:
Search for your product using Product Name, UPC, EAN or ISBN

Scan Barcode for products with UPC, EAN or ISBN
(Available on the Seller App)
Upload details in bulk using standard and custom upload templates

Category Approvals

Amazon jargon:
ASIN
ASIN stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number and is a 10-character that is generated automatically. It is an alphanumeric identifier that helps with product identification from the catalog. But if you are creating a new listing, your product will automatically be given a new unique ASIN.
If your product is not available for sale on Amazon.in, you will need to create a new listing, so that customers can find all the relevant information about it. When you list a product on Amazon.in, it automatically generates an ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number).
Here are some of the details required for a new listing:

200 characters max, capitalize the first letter of every word

Images
500 x 500 pixels or 1,000 x 1,000 to increase listing quality as per Amazon Image Guidelines

Variations
Such as different colors, scents, or sizes

Featured Offer ("Buy Box")
Buy Box is a white box on the right side of the product detail page where customers can add products for purchase. If more than one seller offers a product, they may compete for the Featured Offer (“Buy Box”). Sellers must meet performance-based requirements to be eligible for Featured Offer placement. Using services like Fulfillment by Amazon, you can increase your chances of winning the Buy Box

GTIN Exemption
If the product you sell does not have a barcode or a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), you can request a GTIN exemption to sell your products on Amazon.in. Once we have reviewed and approved your application, you will be able to list your products.
If you are the manufacturer and brand owner of the products you are selling, consider enrolling in Amazon Brand Registry - a free service that gives you greater control over product detail pages that use your brand name.

Every product offered for sale on Amazon.in gets an automatically generated ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number), which is different from a GTIN or SKU. If you are adding an offer for a product, the ASIN will stay the same. If you are creating a new listing, your product will automatically be given an a new unique ASIN.
SKU
SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit which is assigned by the sellers to his product at the time of listing creation so that he can identify his products in his inventory. SKU is unique for every seller and the same SKU cannot be assigned to 2 products. If you don't enter a SKU during listing creation then Amazon create one for on your behalf.
GTIN
GTIN stands for Global Trade Item Numbers (barcodes) and generally varies between 10 to 14 digit number. There are various types of GTINs, the most common ones used on Amazon are Universal Product Codes (UPCs), International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs), European Article Numbers (EANs) and Japanese Article Numbers (JANs).
Detail Page
A Detail Page is the page that a customer reaches in his or her attempt to find detailed information about any product. The product specifications and information that you provide at the time of listing creation appears on the detail page which influences the customer's buying decision.
MRP
MRP stands for Maximum Retail Price. You should add an MRP for the entire catalogue of products you propose to list on Amazon.in. Maximum Retail Price is a mandatory field for offer creation from May 18, 2018 in all categories excluding Books.
Category Approval
Sellers are required to obtain approval from Amazon before listing in certain product categories. This is to ensure that the customers can shop with confidence and find a comprehensive selection of safe, reliable and compliant products on Amazon.in.
GTIN Exemption
GTIN Exemption is a process where you can request Amazon to allow you to list products without providing the barcodes for them. There are scenarios under which you can apply for GTIN Exemption: - You sell products for which you are a manufacturer/brand/publisher and do not have a barcode. For example, private label products or hand-made products - You sell products which are non-branded and do not have barcodes. For example, wholesale products. - You sell parts which do not have a barcodes. For example, automotive parts. - You sell product in bundles which do not have a barcodes. For example, customized bundles like a pack containing a leather belt and wallet or a pack of two shirts.
Brand Registry
Amazon Brand Registry helps you protect your registered trademarks on Amazon and create an accurate and trusted experience for customers. Currently, brands must have a registered trademark to be eligible for enrolment. Brand Registry helps you to protect your brand from infringement.
FBA
FBA stands for Fulfillment by Amazon. You send your products to Amazon fulfilment centers, and we pack and ship them and provide customer service whenever you receive an order for your product. FBA is a paid service and can help you scale your business and reach more customers. The customer returns are also handled by FBA.
