How does Amazon STEP 1 work?

Step 1

Register as an Amazon.in seller and login to Seller Central to set up your account. As a new seller you will start at the 'Standard' level and enjoy 'Standard' benefits from day one.

Step 2

Track performance on metrics that drive growth

STEP enables sellers to improve their performance on key seller controllable metrics like cancellation rate, late dispatch rate and return rate, among others. As sellers improve their performance, they can unlock benefits associated with every level.

Step 3

Enjoy Plethora of Benefits

Benefits include waiver in weight handling fees and lightning deal fees, faster disbursement cycles, priority seller support and account management worth ₹ 7080.

Get Customized Recommendations

STEP dashboard on Seller Central provides you with customized and actionable recommendations, sellers can view and download these recommendations and determine their actions to potentially improve their performance.

Do I have to register for STEP?

Sellers are automatically enrolled into Amazon STEP.

I am a new seller. Will I be part of STEP?

Yes, as a new seller you will start at the 'Standard' level and enjoy 'Standard' benefits from day one.

Where can I view my performance?

You can view your performance, current level, benefits and customized recommendations on the STEP Dashboard on Seller Central. Click here to visit the STEP dashboard in Seller Central (login required).

When will I be evaluated?

STEP follows a quarterly evaluation cycle and based on your performance in the last quarter you move to a new level (or continue at the same level) by the 5th day of the next quarter.

For example, based on your performance from January 1st to March 31st, you move to "Basic", "Advanced" or "Premium" effective April 5th. You will continue at this level and receive corresponding benefits until the next evaluation is completed by July 5th based on your performance from April 1st to June 30th.

The evaluation will be done only if you have fulfilled at least 30 orders and have at least five distinct ASINs in the evaluation period. If you do not fulfil the above criteria, you will be at the "Standard" level and receive "Standard" benefits.
