Entrepreneurship is a growing trend in India. A lot of Indians are pursuing their dreams of running their own business (and if your business is selling goods, then Amazon.in can definitely be a part of your journey). While registering your company, you will come across many confusing terms, along with multiple documents you will need to submit. Here is a handy checklist of terms which can be very helpful during your company registration process.
DIN
DIN or Director Identification Number is a unique identification number for an existing director or a person who gets appointed as a director of a company. DIN is specific to an individual, therefore only one DIN is allotted per individual even if the individual is serving as director at multiple companies.
DSC
DSC or Digital Signature Certificate is required for at least one of the directors. It is issued by the Certifying Authorities (CA) in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000.
ROC
ROC or Registrar of Companies plays a very important role when you are applying for a company to be registered. It is the ROC who receives your Form-INC-1 and approves the name of your company. Documents such as the MOA and AOA are also submitted to the ROC with the filing fee and the registration fee.
MOA
MOA or Memorandum of Association is a document that should explain the objective and purposes for which the Company has been formed.
AOA
AOA or Articles of Association will contain the rules and regulations of management of the company.
It is suggested that you seek professional help while drafting of the MOA and AOA.
COI
COI or Certificate of Incorporation is issued by the ROC after careful review of documents submitted. A Private Limited Company can start its business immediately on receiving the Certificate of Incorporation.
